ربیعہ بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں : میں نوجوان تھا کہ میرے من کے اندر نور ایمان چمک اُٹھا،اورمیرا قلب اسلامی حقائق سے لبریز ہوگیا۔پہلی مرتبہ جب رسول اللہ ﷺ کی دیدار کا شرف حاصل ہوا تو ایسی محبت ہوئی جس نے میری ہر ہر کَل کو اپنی گرفت میں لے لیا، ایسا تعلق ہوا جس نے آپ ﷺ کے سوا ہر چیز سے بیگانہ کردیا۔ایک دن میں نے اپنے آپ سے کہا : ربیعہ تیراناس ہو! تو اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت کے لیے وقف کیوں نہیں کرتا؟ اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہ ﷺ پر پیش کر۔ اگر آپ ﷺقبول فرمائیں تو آپ کی قربت سے تیرے نصیب اچھے ہوں گے اور آپﷺ کی محبت سے کامیابی حاصل ہوگی،دنیا و آخرت کی بھلائیاں ملیں گی۔ پھر میں نے جلد ہی اپنے آپ کو رسول ﷺ کی خدمت میں پیش کیا ۔ مجھے یہ اُمّید تھی کہ اپنی خدمت کے لیے قبول فرمالیں گے،ایسا ہی ہوا،آپ ﷺ نے مجھے مایوس نہیں کیا اور مجھے بطور خادم قبول کیا۔ اسی دن سے میں آپ ﷺ کے سائے سے بھی بڑھ کر آپ ﷺ کے ساتھ رہا ،اورجہاں آپ ﷺ تشریف لے جاتے ،میں بھی ساتھ جاتا ، آپ ﷺجوں ہی میری طرف نگاہ اٹھاتے، میں فوراً حاضر ہوجاتا
تھا،اپنی کسی ضرورت کے لیے میری طرف دیکھتے تو مجھے اس کو نمٹانے میں دوڑتا بھاگتا دیکھتے، پورا دن
آپ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر باش ہوتا تھا۔ جب دن گزر جاتا اور آپﷺ عشاء کی نماز پڑھ چکتے اور گھر تشریف لے جاتے تو میں بھی واپس ہونے لگتا ، مگر کچھ دیر بعدپھر دل ہی دل میں کہنے لگتا: ربیعہ تو کدھر جا رہا ہے؟ ممکن ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کو رات کے وقت کوئی ضرورت پیش آجائے، چنانچہ میں آپ ﷺ کے دروازے پر بیٹھ جاتا اور آپ ﷺ کے دَر کو چھوڑ نہیں سکتا تھا۔
آپ ﷺ پوری رات کھڑے ہوکر نماز پڑھنے میں گزار لیتے تھے، کبھی کبھار سورۂ فاتحہ کی قرأت کرتے سنائی دیتے تھے۔آپ ﷺ مسلسل تہائی رات یا آدھی رات یا کچھ حصے میں اس کو دُہراتے رہتے تھے،تا آنکہ میں تھک جاتا تو میں سننا چھوڑ دیتا تھا ،یا پھر نیند غالب آجاتی اور میں سوجاتا تھا۔ میں نے بارہا آپ ﷺ کو (سَمِعَ اللہُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَہٗ )کہتے سنا ،آپﷺ سورۂ فاتحہ سے بھی زیادہ دیر تک اس کو دُہراتے رہتے۔
رسول اللہ ﷺ کی عادتِ مبارکہ تھی کہ آپ ﷺ کے ساتھ کوئی بھی شخص احسان کرتا تو آپ ﷺ ضرور بدلے میں اس سے بڑھ کر دینا پسند فرماتےتھے، چنانچہ مجھے میری خدمت کا صلہ دینا چاہا
تو ایک دن میری طرف توجہ فرمائی اور کہا: اے ربیعہ بن کعب، میں نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ میں حاضر ہوں، آپ کی خدمت کے لیے باربار حاضر ہوں۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا : "مجھ سے کوئی چیز مانگ لے جو
میں تجھے دوں۔” میں نے کچھ دیر کے لیے سوچا اور عرض کی: یارسول اللہ ﷺ مجھے کچھ سوچنے دیں۔ تاکہ میں جو آپ سے مانگ کے لوں ، اس پر میں سوچ سکوں، پھر میں آپ کو بتادوں گا۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ٹھیک ہے کوئی بات نہیں۔میں ان دنوں جوان تھا اور غربت بھی تھی، میرے بیوی بچے تھے، نہ ہی کوئی مال یا گھر بار تھا، بس اپنے جیسے دیگر فقراء کی طرح مسجد کےصفہ( چبوترے )کو ہی اپنا مسکن بنا لیا تھا (مسجد نبوی ﷺ میں ایک جگہ ہوا کرتی تھی، جہاں نادار اور بے گھر افراد رہا کرتے تھے ) اور لوگ ہمیں مہمانانِ اسلام کہا کرتے تھے۔ جب کوئی مسلمان رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس صدقہ لے کر آتا ، تو آپ ﷺ پورا کا پورا ہمارے پاس بھیجوادیتے ، اور جب کوئی ہدیہ لے کر حاضر ہوتا تو اس سے تھوڑا بہت لے کر باقی ہمیں بھیجوا دیتے۔
ایک دن میں نے دل میں کہا کہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ سے دنیا کی کوئی چیز مانگ لیتا ہوں ، جس سے میری تنگدستی دور ہو، اور میں بھی دوسروں کی طرح صاحبِ مال اور اہل و عیال والا بن سکوں۔ لیکن فوراً ہی یہ سوچا کہ ربیعہ تو ہلاک ہو ،تو کیا سوچتا ہے؟ دنیا کی زندگی تو آنی جانی شے ہے ،اور تیرے رزق کی کفالت اور ذمہ داری اللہ عز وجل نے لی ہوئی ہے، تو وہ توپہنچ کر ہی رہے گا، جبکہ رسول ﷺ کا اپنے رب کے ہاں جو مرتبہ ہے ، وہ ایسا مرتبہ ہے جہاں کوئی بھی خواہش رد نہیں کی جاتی، اس لیے آپ ﷺ سے یہ مانگو کہ وہ اللہ تعالیٰ سے تیرے لیےآخرت کی بھلائی کی دعا کریں۔ یہ سوچ کر دل خوش ہوا اور اطمینان حاصل ہوا۔ پھر میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس آیا : آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: کیا کہتے ہو ربیعہ؟! تو میں نے عرض کی: یا رسو ل اللہ، میں آپ سے یہ مانگتا ہوں کہ آپ اللہ تعالیٰ سے میرے لیے یہ سوال کریں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ مجھے جنت میں آپ کا ساتھی بنادے۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: یہ تمہیں کس نے بتایا؟ میں نے کہا: مجھے کسی نے بھی یہ نہیں بتایا ،جب آپ ﷺنے فرمایا کہ میں آپ سے کچھ مانگوں تو آپ دیدیں گے تو پہلے یہ بات دل میں آئی کہ میں دنیاوی بھلائی آپ سے مانگ لوں پھر جلد ہی ایسا ہوا کہ باقی کو فانی پر ترجیح کی طرف میرا ذہن گیا ،اس لیے میں نے آپ سے یہی مانگا کہ آپ میرے لیے جنت میں اپنا دوست ہونے کی دعا کیجیے۔ یہ سن کر رسول اللہ ﷺ دیر تک خاموش رہے، پھر فرمایا: ربیعہ !اس کے علاوہ اورکچھ؟ میں نے عرض کیا بالکل نہیں یا رسول اللہ ! جو میں نے مانگا ہے میرے نزدیک کوئی شے بھی اس کے برابر نہیں۔ اس پر فرمایا: "توپھر سجدوں کی کثرت سے اپنی اس خواہش کی تکمیل میں میری مددکرو”تو میں نے عبادت میں کوشش شروع کی تاکہ جیسے مجھے دنیا میں آپﷺ کی خدمت و صحبت کا بڑا حصہ ملا، آخرت میں بھی آپ ﷺکی دوستی اور ساتھ رہنے سے لطف اندوز ہوتا رہوں۔
اس کے بعد کچھ زیادہ عرصہ نہیں گذرا تھا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے بلایا اور فرمایا: "ربیعہ شادی نہیں کرنی ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا : یا رسول اللہ ﷺ مجھے یہ پسند نہیں کہ آپ کی خدمت سے کوئی چیز مجھے اور طرف مشغول کردے۔ میرے پاس بیوی کو مہر میں دینے کے لیے بھی کچھ نہیں، اسے کھلانے پلانے کے اسباب بھی میسر نہیں، آپ ﷺ خاموش ہوئے۔ پھر دوسری بار مجھے دیکھا تو فرمایا: شادی نہیں کرنی ہے ربیعہ؟ میں نے وہی جواب دیا جو پہلے دیا تھا۔
لیکن یہ سوچتے ہی میں پچھتایا اور اپنے آپ سے کہا تیرا ناس ہو ربیعہ! اللہ کی قسم ، جو چیز تیری دنیا وآخرت کے لیے بھلی ہے،بے شک نبی ﷺ اسے تجھ سے زیادہ جانتے ہیں،تیری حالت کو تجھ سے بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ اللہ کی قسم! اگر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اس کے بعد مجھے شادی کی دعوت دی تو میں ضرور ہاں کہوں گا۔ زیادہ عرصہ نہیں گذرا تھا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے پھر کہا: ربیعہ شادی نہیں کرنی؟ تومیں نے فوراً عرض کی : کیوں نہیں یا رسول اللہ ﷺ مگر میری شادی کون کرائے گا؟ میرا تو آپ کو پتہ ہی ہے۔آپ ﷺنے فرمایا:” فلاں والوں کے پاس جاؤ اور انہیں کہو کہ اللہ کا رسول تمہیں حکم دیتا ہے کہ تم میرا اپنی فلاں لڑکی سے نکاح کردو۔ ” چنانچہ میں ان کے پاس گیا، کچھ شرما بھی رہا تھا، انہیں رسول اللہ ﷺ کا پیغام پہنچایا ،یعنی یہ کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے تمہارے پاس بھیجا ہے کہ تم لوگ میرے ساتھ اپنی فلاں لڑکی کا نکاح کرادو۔ انہوں نے کہا فلاں لڑکی؟ میں نے کہا : ہاں ،تو انہوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ ﷺکو بھی مرحبا کہتے ہیں اور رسول اللہ کے قاصد کو بھی خوش آمدید!
انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا کہ : اللہ کی قسم! رسول اللہ کا قاصد اپنی ضرورت پوری کرکے لوٹے گا، پھر انہوں نے اس کے ساتھ میرا عقد نکاح کیا۔ پھر میں نبی ﷺ کے پاس آیا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہﷺ میں ایک بہت اچھے گھرانے سے آرہا ہوں ، انہوں نے مجھے خوش آمدید کہا اور اپنی بیٹی کو مجھ سے بیاہ دیا ،اب میں ان کو مہر کہاں سے دوں؟
رسول اللہ ﷺ نے بریدہ بن خصیب کو بلایا( جو قبیلہ بنی اسلم کے سرداروں میں سے ایک سردار تھا) اسے کہا : "اے بریدہ، ربیعہ کے لیے کھجور کی گٹھلی برابر سونا اکٹھا کرلو۔” سو وہ بھی اکٹھا کیا گیا۔
پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے کہا: یہ لے کر ان کے پاس جاؤ اور انہیں کہو : یہ تمہاری بیٹی کا مہر ہے۔” تو میں ان کے پاس آیا اور وہ سونا دیدیا ،انہوں نے خوشی سے قبول کرکے کہا: یہ بہت زیادہ اور عمدہ ہے۔تو میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس آیا اور عرض کیا : ایسے شریف اور کشادہ دل لوگ تو میں نے کہیں دیکھے ہی نہیں، میں نے جو دیا وہ اس پر راضی ہوئے( حالانکہ بہت کم تھا) اور کہا : کہ یہ تو بہت زیادہ اور عمدہ ہے۔ یا رسول اللہ ﷺ!اب میرے پاس تو ولیمہ کے لیے بھی کچھ نہیں؟ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:” لوگو ! ربیعہ کے لیے ایک مینڈھے کی رقم اکٹھی کرلو۔” پھر لوگوں نے میرے لیے ایک بہت موٹا تازہ مینڈھا خرید کر دیا۔ پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے کہا: ” عائشہ کے پاس جاؤ اور اسے کہو کہ اس کے پاس جتنے جَو ہیں ، دے دیں ” میں گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: وہ زنبیل(کھجور کی چھال سے بنی ٹوکری)لے لو ،اس میں سات صاع جَو ہیں، بخدا ہمارے پاس اس کے علاوہ کھانے کے لیے کچھ بھی نہیں۔ پھر میں مینڈھا اورجَو لے کر اپنی بیوی کے گھر والوں کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ جَو تو ہم تیار کرلیں گے، مینڈھے کے لیے اپنے دوستوں سے کہو وہ کردیں گے۔ پھر میں نے بنو اسلم کے کچھ لوگوں سے مل کر مینڈھے کو ذبح کیا اور اس کی کھال اُتاری پھر اس کو پکایا ،چنانچہ ہمارے پاس گوشت اور روٹی کا کھانا تیار ہوگیا۔ پھر میں نے ولیمہ کیا اور رسو ل اللہ ﷺ کو دعوت دی تو آپ ﷺ نے قبول کی۔
پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مجھے کچھ زمین دی جو ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ کی زمین کے ساتھ تھی، پھر میرے پاس دنیا آئی تاآنکہ میرا ایک دن ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ ایک کھجورکے درخت پر کچھ اختلاف ہوا، تو میں نے کہا کہ یہ میری زمین میں ہے ،انہوں نے کہا : نہیں میری زمین میں ہے۔ چنانچہ کچھ تنازع سا ہوا، تو انہوں نے مجھے ایک بات کہہ دی جو مجھے بری لگی۔ کچھ ہی دیر بعد انہیں پچھتا وا ہوا اور کہا: اے ربیعہ تم بھی مجھے وہی بات کہہ دو تا کہ بدلہ ہو جائے۔ میں نے کہا : نہیں خدا کی قسم! میں تو نہیں کہوں گا ، اس پر انہوں نے کہا: پھر تو میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس جاکر تیری شکایت
لگا ؤں گا یعنی کہ مجھ سے قصاص نہیں لے رہا۔ وہ نبی ﷺ کے پاس جانے لگے ، میں بھی ان کے پیچھے چلا آیا، بنو اسلم کے لوگ میرے پیچھے آئے اور کہا : کہ برا بھلا کہنے میں بھی پہل کی اور اب یہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس شکایت لگا نے بھی جا رہا ہے۔ میں نے ان کی طرف مڑ کر کہا: افسوس ! تم جانتے ہو یہ کون ہیں ؟ یہ صدیق ہیں اور مسلمانوں کے بزرگ ہیں( یعنی سفید ریش اور بڑے) واپس جاؤ ، کہیں یہ مڑ کر تمہیں دیکھ نہ لیں، وہ یہ سمجھیں گے کہ تم میری مدد کرنے آئے ہو، پھر ناراض ہوجائیں گے ، ان کی ناراضگی کے سبب رسول اللہ ﷺ بھی ناراض ہوجائیں گے اور اللہ ان دونوں کی ناراضگی کے سبب غصہ ہوں گے، یوں ربیعہ تباہ و برباد ہوجائے گا۔ چنانچہ وہ واپس چلے گئے۔ ابو بکر رضی اللہ نے آپ ﷺ کے پاس آکر بات عرض کی ،تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے میری طرف نگا ہ اٹھائی اور فرمایا: اے ربیعہ یہ ابوبکر کے ساتھ کیا معاملہ ہوا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کی ،یا رسول اللہ ﷺ اتنی سی بات تھی کہ انہوں نے مجھ سے وہی کچھ کہلوانا چاہا جو انہوں نے مجھے کہا تھا، لیکن میں نے کہنے سے انکار کیا ۔ تو آپ ﷺ نے مجھ سے فرمایا:” ٹھیک ہے تم ایسا نہ کہو جو ابوبکر نے کہا ہے مگر ایسا کہو کہ اللہ ابو بکر کی مغفرت فرمائے” تو میں نے کہا: ابو بکر اللہ آپ کی مغفرت فرمائے۔ تو ابوبکرؓ یہ کہتے ہوئےجانے لگے، جبکہ ان کی آنکھو ں سے آنسو بہہ رہے تھے، اے ربیعہ بن کعب میری طرف سے اللہ تجھے بہترین جزا دے۔۔۔۔ اے ربیعہ بن کعب میری طرف سے اللہ تجھے بہترین جزا دے۔
